App Not Connecting / WiFi Setup IssueUpdated 6 days ago
If your chiller is not connecting to the Smart Life App, cannot pair with your phone, or loses WiFi connection, there are several steps you can take to restore the connection. Most issues are caused by network settings, phone permissions, or pairing mode not being activated correctly.
1. Make Sure You Are Using a 2.4 GHz WiFi Network
Your chiller can only connect to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network.
It will not connect to 5 GHz networks.
Check the following
- your router supports 2.4 GHz
- your phone is connected to the 2.4 GHz signal before pairing
- the network name does not contain unusual symbols or spaces
- the WiFi password is correct
If your router combines both signals, temporarily split the network or disable 5 GHz during setup.
2. Enable Bluetooth and Location on Your Phone
According to the manual, the Smart Life App requires
- Bluetooth ON
- Location Services ON
These permissions allow the app to detect the chiller.
Make sure
- Bluetooth is enabled
- Location Services are enabled for Smart Life
- the app has permission to access your device during setup
Without these permissions, the app cannot detect the chiller.
3. Move Your Phone Close to the Chiller
Smart Life needs a strong signal during pairing.
For best results
- stand close to the chiller
- avoid walls or distance during setup
- keep other wireless devices away
Being too far during pairing may cause connection failure.
4. Put the Chiller Into WiFi Pairing Mode
The chiller must be in pairing mode for the app to recognize it.
To enter pairing mode
- press and hold the WiFi button on the control panel
- hold until the WiFi indicator begins blinking
- confirm the indicator is flashing quickly
A slow or solid light means the unit is not in pairing mode.
5. Add the Device in the Smart Life App
Follow these steps
- Open the Smart Life App
- Tap Add Device
- Select Small Home Appliances
- Choose WiFi or Bluetooth Auto Scan
- Enter your 2.4 GHz WiFi password when prompted
- Allow the App to scan for your chiller
The app should detect the chiller automatically once it is in pairing mode.
6. Check Your WiFi Password and Router Settings
Connection may fail if
- the WiFi password is incorrect
- the network is hidden
- MAC address filtering is enabled
- the router security mode is incompatible
Use WPA or WPA2 security for best compatibility.
7. Reset the WiFi Connection and Try Again
If setup fails
- turn off WiFi on your phone and enable it again
- restart your router
- close and reopen the Smart Life App
- reset the chiller’s WiFi by holding the WiFi button again
Then repeat the pairing steps.
8. Avoid Using Mobile Hotspots
The manual recommends using a home WiFi router, not a mobile hotspot.
Hotspot signals can be unstable and may disconnect.
If you must use a hotspot
- keep the phone hosting the hotspot close to the chiller
- ensure the hotspot uses 2.4 GHz
- disable battery saving modes
Home WiFi is strongly recommended.
9. Confirm Your Chiller Is Within WiFi Range
Weak WiFi signals will prevent pairing.
Check
- the chiller is within a reasonable distance of the router
- there are no thick walls blocking the signal
- WiFi signal remains stable in that area
If needed, move the chiller or use a WiFi extender.
Summary
If the app will not connect, the most common causes are
- not using a 2.4 GHz WiFi network
- Bluetooth or Location turned off
- weak signal
- incorrect WiFi password
- chiller not in pairing mode
- incompatible router settings
- unstable mobile hotspots
Following the steps above usually restores connection quickly.
