1. Use the Recommended Maintenance Kit

Arctic Warriors cold plunge systems are designed to work with chlorine free and bromine free water care products.

We strongly recommend using our maintenance kit, which is formulated specifically for cold plunge use. This kit helps control bacteria, oxidize organic buildup, and maintain balanced water without damaging your tub or chiller.

Using the recommended kit ensures

• reduced risk of buildup or corrosion

2. Chlorine Is Not Recommended

Our cold plunge units are not designed for chlorine use.

If a customer chooses to use chlorine

• it is done at their own discretion

• chlorine may damage internal components, seals, or surfaces

For best results and equipment protection, do not use chlorine.

3. Approved Alternative: Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide

If you choose not to use our maintenance kit, the only approved alternative we recommend is food grade hydrogen peroxide.

Food grade hydrogen peroxide

• is safer for cold plunge systems than chlorine

Only use food grade hydrogen peroxide and follow proper dosing guidelines.

4. Maintain Proper Water Balance

Balanced water is key to clarity.

Using test strips, regularly check

• pH levels
• total alkalinity

Ideal ranges

• pH: 7.2 to 7.8
• Total alkalinity: 80 to 120 ppm

Unbalanced water can lead to cloudiness, buildup, and reduced sanitizer effectiveness.

5. Oxidize the Water Regularly

Oxidation removes body oils, sweat, and organic debris that cause cloudy water.

Oxidation helps

• keep water sparkling clear
• reduce odor buildup
• improve sanitizer effectiveness

This is typically done weekly, or more often with heavy use, using approved oxidizers such as stabilized hydrogen peroxide and a Maintenance kit. 

6. Use Filters Correctly and Keep Them Clean

Filters trap debris that would otherwise cloud the water.

To maintain clarity

• rinse the filter regularly
• deep clean the filter as recommended
• replace filters when flow weakens or discoloration appears

Dirty filters are one of the most common causes of cloudy water.

7. Shower Before Plunging

• avoid lotions or oils before entering
